It’s interesting how quickly we tie our worth to things that were never meant to define it.
A productive week.
A compliment.
A relationship that works out.
The number on the scale.
The promotion.
The unanswered text.
Without even realizing it, we begin collecting evidence to decide whether we’re enough.
Some days we feel confident. Other days, one disappointment is enough to make us question everything.
Maybe that’s because we’ve been asking the wrong question.
Instead of asking, “Am I enough?”
What if we remembered that our worth was never something we had to prove?
It was something we were given.
Long before we accomplished anything. Long before we had the perfect words, the perfect career, or the perfect life.
God looked at us with love.
Not because we had earned it.
Simply because we were His.
There is so much freedom in that.
Freedom to stop performing.
Freedom to stop comparing.
Freedom to believe that our value isn’t determined by our successes, or diminished by our failures.
This month, we’ve been holding onto one simple sentiment: Worthy.
Not as something we have to convince ourselves of, but as an invitation to rest in the truth that our worth has never been fragile.
It has always been held safely in the hands of the One who created us.
If we stopped measuring our worth by the things that change, what might we begin to see differently about ourselves?
