There are days when we don’t realize how tired we are until we finally sit down.
Not because we’ve been moving.
Because we’ve been carrying.
Conversations that keep replaying in our minds.
Decisions we haven’t made yet.
Things we can’t fix, but somehow keep trying to solve anyway.
It’s possible to be completely still on the outside while our minds are running a marathon.
Maybe that’s why the words “Be still” can feel so different.
They’re not an invitation to do less.
They’re an invitation to release more.
Exodus 14:14 says, “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
There is something powerful about being reminded that not every battle is ours to fight.
Not every problem needs to be solved today.
Not every question needs an answer right now.
Some things can simply be placed into God’s hands.
There is a freedom that comes when we stop believing everything depends on us.
This month, we’ve been holding onto the sentiment: Be Still.
Not as permission to stop caring.
But as a reminder that peace isn’t found in having control.
It’s found in trusting the One who already does.
Reflection for the month:
What is one thing you’ve been carrying that God has been gently asking you to surrender?
